Theuerkauf Adds To Lady Vols’ Portal Momentum
April 16, 2026 | Women's Basketball
Rylie Theuerkauf (TER-koff), one of the SEC's most accurate shooters from the three-point arc and free-throw line, added to Tennessee's recruiting momentum in the portal by signing an Institutional Financial Aid Agreement (IFAA), Lady Vol head coach Kim Caldwell confirmed on Thursday.
The 5-foot-9 rising senior guard from Tenafly, New Jersey, was ranked as the No. 85 prospect in the 2023 SportsCenter NEXT 100 and was Georgia's third-leading scorer a year ago during her first season in Athens. She reunites with UT assistant coach Isoken Uzamere (ee-SO-ken ooh-ZAH-mer-ay), as well as 6-2 rising sophomore forward Zhen Craft, who were with her at UGA in 2025-26.
Theuerkauf and Craft join other previously-announced signees in 5-9 guards Avery Mills (Liberty) and Naomi White (Northern Arizona) and 6-3 forward Harper Peterson (Stanford) in Tennessee's 2026 transfer portal class. UT also will welcome 6-1 freshman guard/forward Gabby Minus (Dacula, Ga./Hebron Christian Academy), the No. 64-ranked player in the 2026 SportsCenter NEXT 100 class.
Averaging 11.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest, Theuerkauf started 31 of 32 games for the Lady Bulldogs a year ago. She shot 42.4 percent from the field, 40.6 from beyond the arc and 86.2 from the free-throw line, ranking No. 2 in the SEC in free-throw percentage, No. 3 in three-point field goal percentage and No. 8 in three-pointers per game (2.2).
Theuerkauf was Georgia's most accurate free-throw and three-point shooter, hit the second-most three-pointers (71) and was the third-leading scorer. She also dished out the team's fourth-most assists (34), helping UGA earn an NCAA Tournament berth with her all-around play.
She scored in double figures 18 times as a junior, including nine times vs. SEC opponents. The sharpshooter finished in double figures in nine of her final 12 games, including three games of 22+ points, averaging 14.7 ppg. during that span. On the year, she hit three or more treys in 13 games, including seven with four or more.
Theuerkauf fired in a career-high 26 points against Mississippi State, draining five of seven three-point attempts. She closed out the campaign with a 5-of-9 day beyond the arc and 7-of-8 effort from the charity stripe en route to 22 points vs. Virginia in the NCAA First Round.
Before going to Athens, Theuerkauf spent two seasons at Wake Forest, where she led the Demon Deacons as a sophomore at 12.0 points per game and contributed 3.5 points and 1.3 rebounds as a freshman. In 2024-25, she scored in double figures on 19 occasions, including 11 of the last 12 games of the season. During that span, she tallied 193 points and averaged 16.1 points per contest.
In high school, Theuerkauf was the No. 85 overall player, earning a four-star rating in the 2023 SportsCenter NEXT 100. She finished her career with 2,482 points at Tenafly High School, posting 28.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game during her senior season. She produced 29.2 ppg. as a junior and 36.4 as a sophomore, earning New Jersey All-State accolades in 2022-23, garnering All-Big North First Team and All-Bergen County honors four times each and All-North Jersey acclaim her final three years.
