CLEVELAND, Tenn. – A trio of Volunteers posted NCAA regional-caliber performances on Saturday as UT wrapped up the outdoor regular season at the Lee University Last Chance Meet. Traunard Folson, T'Mars McCallum and Yourie Lawrence Clarke each recorded season-best performances that rank among the top 48 on the current NCAA East Qualifying List.
Folson and McCallum lined up for the 100-meter dash, placing first and second in the prelims with times of 10.05 and 10.22, respectively. Folson's 10.05 had a legal wind reading of 2.0 m/s, placing him fifth on Tennessee's all-time list in the event and 10th nationally. McCallum's mark was slightly wind-aided with a 2.8 m/s reading, but it was good enough to tie for 32nd on the regional list.
In the men's 110-meter hurdles, Lawrence Clarke clocked a season-best 13.83 (+1.1) to place first overall, set a meet record and rank tied for 27th in the East Region.
Tennessee also earned a pair of victories in the vertical jumps on Saturday. Grant Campbell won the men's high jump with a clearance of 2.05 meters (6-8.75), while Mya Strahm claimed the women's pole vault title with a mark of 3.96 meters (12-11.75).
UP NEXT: The Vols and Lady Vols turn their attention to the outdoor postseason in two weeks, with Auburn University set to host the SEC Outdoor Championships from Thursday through Saturday, May 14-16.
