Friedland[apos]s responsibilities will include opponent scouting, film breakdown and exchange, and working with Coach Patrick with the setters and defensive specialists.
He led the MAVBC[apos]s 17-Travel squad to the No. 1 ranking in the Chesapeake Region in 2012 and won the South Atlantic Championship in both 2011 and 2010. While with the club, Friedland worked as an assistant coach at Howard University, where he helped lead the Bison to a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament appearance.
Friedland has experience as an assistant coach at George Washington University, American University and the University of Connecticut, and served as the head men[apos]s and women[apos]s coach at Daniel Webster College from 2007-08.
A native of Mansfield, Conn., Friedland earned his B.S. in Sport Management from Endicott College in Beverly, Mass., in 2005. A four-year letterwinner on the men[apos]s volleyball team, he went on to earn his M.B.A from Endicott in 2006.
