VB Preview: #17 Lady Vols Return Home for Weekend Match Against Coastal Carolina

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The No. 17 Tennessee volleyball team returns to action on Saturday as it hosts Coastal Carolina at Food City Center. The match is scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m. ET and will be streamed on SEC Network+.
Fans planning to attend this weekend's matches should follow Tennessee's clear bag policy. Parking is available free of charge to fans in the G-5/G-30 garage. Gates B and E will be the entrance for all general fans and player guests, while students will be directed to Gate A. Any additional items to know before coming out for any of the matches can be found on the Volleyball Gameday Page.
Fans are encouraged to match the Lady Vols and come decked out for Summitt Blue Saturday. The first 250 fans in attendance will also receive a Summitt Blue T-shirt.
Tennessee and Coastal Carolina have met on four occasions, with Tennessee holding a 3-1 advantage in the series. The two teams met twice during the 2024 season, with the Lady Vols taking the win in both matches.
Tennessee dropped its last match, falling in three sets against No. 2 Pitt. The Lady Vols' offense posted 38 kills on a .248 hitting percentage, led by Kennedi Rogers and Jalyn Stout with 10 kills apiece. UT could not keep up with the Pitt attack, which finished with 51 kills on .352 hitting. Jolene Oddo led at the net with four blocks, while Raegan Burns logged a team-high 12 digs for her fourth double figure dig outing of the season.
Coastal Carolina enters the match after defeating Wofford in five sets on Thursday. Three Chanticleers have 50-plus kills, led by Anzley Rinard with 73 through the team's first six matches. Kaylee Musick leads the team with 190 assists and has 10 aces. Jonna Spohn leads the Chanticleers in digs with 121 and ranks 25th in Division I. Three players have 20 or more blocks, with Hatteras Walker leading the group with 28. Abby Bucey has 14 aces to lead the team, ranking in the top 25 nationally.
The Big Orange offense continues to be one of the top units in the country under head coach Eve Rackham Watt. Early on in 2026, Tennessee ranks top six in Division I in both kills per set (14.83, third) and hitting percentage (.334, sixth). In its previous eight seasons under Rackham Watt, Tennessee has ranked top 20 nationally in either statistic in five seasons. In 2025, Tennessee ranked top 15 in both hitting percentage (.292, 10th) and kills per set (14.27, 11th).
Early season crowds have created a home-court advantage for UT. The Lady Vols have set two attendance records in their first four matches. In its season opener, 7,924 fans packed into Food City Center to watch Tennessee's three-set win over Colgate. Just a week later, Tennessee shattered that attendance record, with 8,212 fans at Food City Center for its sweep over Illinois. To begin the season, Tennessee has had a total attendance of 28,810. All four of its matches this season have ranked among Tennessee's top ten highest attended matches, with three ranking in the top five. Last season, Tennessee ranked in the top ten nationally in both total attendance (57,056) and average attendance (3,804). Both attendance figures are also the highest for a single season in UT history.
