Christine McCartney joined Tennessee Athletics in May of 2023 and currently serves as the assistant director of academic services. In her role, she advises men’s cross country, men’s track and women’s rowing, supporting student-athletes in achieving success both academically and athletically. She is committed to their holistic development, providing guidance and resources to help them excel on and off the field.
Prior to her time in Knoxville, McCartney served as an academic counselor at Missouri State University, where she worked with multiple athletic programs, including football, men’s and women’s golf, women’s tennis and men’s basketball.
Originally from Arlington, Texas, she earned her bachelor’s degree in finance with a concentration in financial planning, along with a master’s degree in professional studies with a concentration in sport management, both from Missouri State University.
A former student-athlete at MSU, she was a four-year starter on the volleyball team, helping lead the program to two NCAA Tournament appearances and finishing her career with over 1,000 kills to rank seventh in program history.
In her free time, Christine enjoys spending time with her blue pit bull, Jaxson, working on small projects and exploring opportunities to learn new skills.
