Lady Vols-Union Postgame Notes
BY THE NUMBERS
2: Consecutive exhibition wins over Union. The Lady Bulldogs beat the Lady Vols in three regular-season contests in 1974-75.
4: Number of Lady Vols with double-digit scoring numbers against Union: Spani, Stricklen, Simmons and Harrison.
7: Number of three-pointers knocked down by Spani. She topped her previous high of three treys set 3/28/11 versus Notre Dame.
11: Rebounds for Glory Johnson. Her board game marks the first double-digit rebounding effort for the Lady Vols in 2011-12.

The Series
• Tonight's game marked the fifth meeting between UT and Union: two exhibitions, one regular season game and two postseason tussles.
• Tennessee is 2-0 in exhibition contests with the Lady Bulldogs, winning the 2010 matchup 86-53.
• The Lady Bulldogs' three wins over Tennessee all came during the 1974-75 season.
• The Lady Vols are now 50-11 in exhibition contests: 38-4 at home, 6-3 on the road and 5-4 in neutral games.
For Starters
• Tonights starters: sophomore Meighan Simmons, junior Taber Spani, freshman Ariel Massengale, senior Glory Johnson and senior Shekinna Stricklen.
• Massengale made her first career start and recorded the first start for the freshman class in 2011-12.
• All nine available Lady Vols saw action in the first half.

• Spani dropped what would have been a career-high seven three-point baskets against Union.
• Her career-high of three treys came in the 2011 NCAA Tournament against Notre Dame (3/28/11).
• The Tennessee single-game high for three pointers in a game is eight, set by Meighan Simmons versus Lamar (12/1/10).
Tennessee to the Line
• UT made 29 trips to the charity stripe in the contest, taking advantage and scoring 21 points on 29 FTA.
• By contrast, Union had only two attempts from the line, sinking both shots.
Leading Ladies
• Tennessee held a commanding 39-23 edge on the boards and a 44-16 advantage in paint points.
Smooth Criminals
• UT collected 16 steals on the night.
• The Lady Bulldogs committed more than twice the turnovers of UT, losing the rock 31 times.
• Tennessee was able to take advantage of Union's turnover troubles, scoring 37 points off takeaways.
Double Trouble
• Four of the nine Lady Vols that played scored in double figures: Spani (25), Stricklen (17), Harrison (11) and Simmons (10).
• Johnson put up double-digit rebounds with 11 boards on the night.
Big Score for Big Orange
• UT's biggest lead of the game was 48 points (93-45) and it came on the final basket, a Cierra Burdick layup with 1:08 left in the game.
• This only the second exhibition game in the Lady Vols' last ten where they failed to reach the century mark, despite scoring 51 points in the first half.
