POSTGAME NOTES
THE SERIES
- This marked the 60th meeting between the schools.
- UT now holds a 47-13 record in the series, including 20-3 in Knoxville.
- This is the 15th straight game in Thompson-Boling Arena that the Lady Vols have been victorious, with 11 of those coming this season.
- UT has won 13 straight games vs. SEC opponents.
UT-LSU CONNECTIONS
- Former Lady Vol Nikki Caldwell is the head coach for the Lady Tigers.
- Assistant coach Tasha Butts was a former UT player and graduate assistant.
- Another connection is with assistant Tony Perotti who was a former UT office assistant, summer camp coach and practice player.
- Against former Lady Vols as head coaches, Warlick is 6-1, including 4-1 vs. Caldwell.
- Against teams with former UT staff members coaching, Warlick is 9-3. Her record is 11-3 vs. teams with former Lady Vols on staff.
#WEBACKPAT
- The game vs. LSU marked Tennessee's annual "We Back Pat" game to increase awareness of The Pat Summitt Foundation and its goals.
- Prior to the game, two checks for a combined $29,218 were presented to Summitt's foundation by the Taste of Turkey Creek and Forget Me Not 5k.
- Before the tipoff, LSU head coach and former Lady Vol Nikki Caldwell and Holly Warlick honored Pat Summitt with bouquets of flowers.
- At halftime, a check for $100,000 was presented by The Pat Summitt Foundation to help with the recently-announced establishment of the Pat Summitt Alzheimer's Clinic which will partner with UT Medical Center.
FOR STARTERS
- Today's starters: Bashaara Graves, Cierra Burdick, Isabelle Harrison, Andraya Carter, Jordan Reynolds.
- Graves and Reynolds are the only two that have started every game this season.
- This is the eighth straight game that the Lady Vols have used this line-up. They are now 8-1 with the group.
- The jump ball was controlled by the Lady Vols.
- The first points were scored by Andraya Carter with a jump shot.
OFF BENCH
- Ariel Massengale was the first off the bench for the 14th time this season.
- Alexa Middleton and Jaime Nared were next in for the Lady Vols.
- Middleton earned seven points and added two rebounds and assists. Entering the game, Middleton was 0-for-14 from the field and 0-for-1 to start the game. She had not scored since the SEC opener vs. Mizzou.
- Kortney Dunbar entered the game with 56.3 seconds left in the first half.
SENIOR LEADERSHIP
- Isabelle Harrison was the first Lady Vol to earn double digits. She was 9-for-11 for a season-high 25 points. She led all scorers.
- Coming into the game, Harrison was 37 points from reaching 1,000 career points. Heading into the next game, she will need just 12 points to reach that milestone.
- Harrison grabbed a game-high eight rebounds as well.
- Cierra Burdick was unselfish dishing out six assists, tying her season-high. Burdick added eight points and three rebounds.
- Ariel Massengale added seven points and three assists. She has a career total of 470 assists and sits just behind Alexis Hornbuckle (503).
OFFENSIVELY SPEAKING
- The Lady Vols had their best field goal percentage of the season going 25-for-45 (55.6 percent). That is the best scoring percentage they've had since shooting 58.2 percent vs. Vanderbilt on Feb. 10, 2014.
- Tennessee posted its fifth wire-to-wire win and second in the SEC.
- Two Lady Vols scored in double digits vs. the Lady Tigers: Isabelle Harrison and Andraya Carter.
- Andraya Carter tied her season-high for shots made beyond the arc with three. She was a perfect 3-for-3 from the three point line and near perfect from the field shooting 5-for-6. She notched 13 points with three rebounds and three steals.
- The Lady Vols had their second highest three-point shooting percentage with 54.5 percent (6-11).
- Jordan Reynolds was scoreless in the first half but went on to finish with nine points, including four from the free throw line.
- The Lady Vols racked up a combined 18 assists vs. the Lady Tigers. Cierra Burdick was responsible for six of those.
- Four Lady Vols are within reach of 1,000 career points. Harrison needs just 12 points. Bashaara Graves and Ariel Massengale need 31 and 34 points, respectively. Cierra Burdick needs 139 points to reach the 1,000 point club.
DEFENSE AT ITS FINEST
- In the two games prior to coming to TBA, the Lady Tigers' Danielle Ballard shot 24 and 25 points, respectively against opponents. Against UT, Ballard was limited to 15 points.
- Tennessee has limited SEC opponents to just 58 points in six games this season.
- UT forced 14 turnovers and were responsible for seven steals. Andraya Carter accounted for three of those takeaways.
AT THE HALF
- The Lady Vols led the Lady Tigers, 32-24.
- Tennessee was shooting 51.9 percent (14-27) while LSU was 10-for-23 for 43.5 percent.
- UT played unselfishly dishing out 11 assists with five of those coming from Cierra Burdick.
- Isabelle Harrison led all scorers with 11 points. She also grabbed a game-high four rebounds.
- Tennessee outrebounded LSU 15-11 and was responsible for six steals.
