#12 Lady Vols Continue Homestand Against #11 Vanderbilt, Missouri
March 26, 2026 | Women's Tennis
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The No. 12 University of Tennessee women's tennis team (10-5, 5-4) is set to continue the 2026 dual slate this weekend, as it hosts the No. 11 Vanderbilt Commodores (16-5, 6-3) on Friday before meeting the Missouri Tigers (11-11, 0-9) on Sunday at Barksdale Stadium. Friday's first serve is slated for 5 p.m., while Sunday's matchup will begin at 11 a.m.
Â
The matchup with Vanderbilt will serve as part of ITA's College Tennis Weekend, an effort to highlight the fan and community engagement efforts of programs, players, coaches, fans and local organizations around the college tennis community.
Â
Sunday's matchup with Missouri will be the "Bark at Barksdale" match, with fans encouraged to bring their pets. The first 50 fans in attendance will receive a free Smokey-themed collapsible dog bowl. All pets in attendance must remain on a leash at all times.
Tennessee went 2-1 last week, first dropping a 4-2 decision to the then-No. 5 Texas A&M Aggies in Knoxville on Friday before defeating the then-No. 7 Texas Longhorns in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, 4-2.
In the winning effort at Texas, Lady Vol freshman Katrina Scott bested the No. 1-ranked singles player in the nation, Carmen Herea, by a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 score. She went on to win SEC Freshman of the Week for her performance.
Â
The Lady Vols then hosted the Bellarmine Knights in a non-conference match Wednesday, earning a 4-0 win to open the homestand.
"Every Wednesday, our team competes against each other in preparation for the weekend's competition," Tennessee Head Coach Alison Ojeda said. "Being able to compete against an opponent, wearing a different jersey yesterday, proved to be a home run decision for us.
Â
"Our team was able to focus on details that are incredibly important to our overall performance," she continued, "and we are more ready for tomorrow night's competition than we were before the match."
Scouting Vanderbilt
The Commodores enter Friday's matchup having won five of their last six matches, including a victory over the No. 1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs. Their most recent result was a 5-2 loss to No. 10 LSU on March 21. Vanderbilt boasts four ranked singles entries, including three in ITA's top 35, headlined by No. 17 Celia Belle Mohr. Mohr and Sophia Webster also make up ITA's third-ranked doubles team, one of two ranked duos for the Commodores.
Scouting Missouri
The Tigers start the weekend with an 11-11 record, still seeking their first conference victory. Though the Tigers do not have any ranked entries, the squad is led by Korina Roso, who started the 2025-26 season with a 15-2 singles record prior to conference play.
