Match Preview: #16 Lady Vols Cap Homestand Against Auburn on Sunday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The #16 Tennessee volleyball program returns to the court on Sunday afternoon as they host Auburn at Food City Center. First serve is schedule for 2:00 p.m and the game will be streamed on SEC Network+. Sunday's match is Tennessee's Camper's Reunion and Kids Day Out. Campers can receive a a free GA ticket to the match if they where their 2025 camper t-shirt. Following the match the Lady Vols will be holding free clinic. All children 12 or younger that attend the match are eligible to participate in the clinic.
Doors will open one hour before the match, and fans can purchase tickets on AllVols.com. Parking is available on the top level of G-5/G-30 garage located at the corner of Lake Loudoun and Phillip Fulmer Way, directly across the street from the arena. Gate B will be the entrance for general fans, while students and player guests are encouraged to use Gate C. The clear bag policy is in effect for the match. The Lady Vols are coming off a tough five-set loss at the hands of Florida. Hayden Kubik led the team once again in kills with 24, adding 13 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. Kubik was joined in double figures for kills by the trio of Paityn Chapman (15), Chelseas Sutton (13), and Mackenzie Plante (11). Plante also contributed 16 digs on the evening, notching her first double-double of the year. Caroline Kerr did her part in the contest, tying her career high with 57 assists. Kerr added 15 digs for her seventh double-double of the season and fifth in SEC play.
Auburn come into Sunday off a loss on the road at #3 Kentucky in four sets. Auburn is led on offense by Lauren Dreves, who comes into the match with 246 kills. Dreves' 246 kills are one of the top marks in the SEC, ranking fourth. Auburn enters the match as one of the top block defense team in the country. The Tigers average 3.13 blocks per set, ranking second in the nation and tops in the SEC. As a team, AUburn has 194 total blocks, the sixth most nationally and top in the conference. Lading the group at the net is Kate Mansfield, with the sophomore 106 blocks and 1.71 blocks per set, Both are tops in the SEC, with her 106 blocks ranking third in Division I and her 1.71 blocks per set ranked fourth. The defense continues on the floor, with Alex Dacosta ranked third in the conference with 249 digs and fourth in the conference with 4.02 digs per set. Auburn's floor defense is also tops in the SEC, with its 14.63 digs per set leading the SEC and 907 team digs sitting fourth-most. Tennessee leads the all-time series with a record of 38-20-1, winning last year's match-up between the two programs in Knoxville in four sets.
Offense continues to be the name of the game for the Lady Vols, with one of the top-ranked units in the country. The Lady Vols enter the match with a .316 hitting percentage, leading the SEC and ranking third in Division I. The production offensively has been a full team effort this season, with six players having 60 or more kills. Leading the team in kills is Hayden Kubik, coming in with 190 on the season. The senior hitter has 10 or more kills in 12 contests. Next is Paityn Chapman at 148 kills and Chelsea Sutton with 117 kills. Four players have a hitting percentage over .300 on the campaign. Leading the team is Chelsea Sutton at .406, the third-best percentage in the conference.
